We invest in technology that supports better diagnostic accuracy, more comfortable patient experiences, and higher-quality outcomes, from the way we image and evaluate to the way we fabricate appliances and communicate with our patients.

Cone Beam CT (CBCT) Imaging

Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is available at all of our offices. This technology provides high-resolution, three-dimensional imaging of the jaw joints, dentition, facial skeleton, and airway, information that conventional dental X-rays simply cannot provide.

We use CBCT to:

  • Evaluate the bony anatomy of the temporomandibular joints for signs of degeneration, remodeling, or structural change
  • Assess airway dimensions to screen for risk of sleep-related breathing disorders
  • Rule out pathology that may be contributing to pain or dysfunction
  • Support treatment planning for complex cases

Digital Impressions: 3Shape Trios Intraoral Scanner

We have moved away from traditional impression materials entirely. Using the Trios 3Shape intraoral scanner, we capture precise digital models of your teeth and bite in minutes, with no trays, no putty, and no discomfort.

The resulting digital files are used to fabricate custom appliances with a level of accuracy that enhances both fit and function.

For patients who have struggled with traditional impressions due to a strong gag reflex or dental anxiety, digital scanning is a meaningful improvement in comfort.

Patient Communication: athenahealth Portal

We use athenahealth, a leading healthcare platform, to manage our patient records and communication. Through the secure athenahealth patient portal, you can message our clinical team directly, review your care plan, access visit summaries, and manage appointments, all from your phone or computer.

We believe that clear, accessible communication between patients and providers is part of good care. The portal makes it easier to get answers to questions between visits, respond to follow-up requests, and stay engaged in your own treatment.

Our Referral Network

Orofacial pain and sleep medicine do not exist in isolation. We maintain active, collaborative relationships with neurologists, ENT specialists, sleep physicians, dentists, oral surgeons, orthodontists, primary care providers, and mental health professionals throughout the community.

When a patient’s needs extend beyond our scope, we coordinate warm handoffs to trusted providers, and when we receive referred patients, we communicate our findings and recommendations clearly and promptly. Good care is always a team effort.
