Physical therapy is one of the most effective and evidence-supported treatments available for orofacial pain and TMD. We are one of the few practices in the region to offer it directly in-house through Affiliated Health of Wisconsin.

In-House Rehabilitation for Musculoskeletal Conditions

At three of our four locations, physical therapists work side by side with our orofacial pain and sleep medicine specialists, creating a level of coordinated care that is difficult to replicate when PT is managed separately.

While our physical therapists are trained to treat the whole body, most of our patients present with conditions specific to the orofacial region, including jaw pain, TMD, myofascial pain, headache, and cervical dysfunction.

Our sleep medicine patients also benefit from access to physical therapy when pre-existing TMD is present or when jaw discomfort develops as a side effect of oral appliance therapy.

What Our Physical Therapists Treat

  • TMJ disorders, including joint pain, disc displacement, limited opening, and muscular dysfunction
  • Myofascial pain, including trigger points and muscle tension in the face, jaw, temples, and neck
  • Headaches with a musculoskeletal component, including tension-type and cervicogenic headache
  • Cervical pain and postural dysfunction associated with TMD
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation following jaw or facial procedures
  • Bruxism-related muscle fatigue and soreness
  • Appliance-related jaw discomfort in dental sleep medicine patients

The Advantage of Integrated Care

When your physical therapist and orofacial pain specialist share the same clinical space, communication is direct and continuous. Your providers align on goals, adjust plans in real time, and ensure that every component of your treatment is working in the same direction.

For patients managing complex or chronic conditions, this integration is not a convenience. It is a meaningful clinical advantage.
